It's as much as scam as that "Star Registry" bullshit.
“Wolves which batten upon lambs, lambs consumed by wolves, the strong who immolate the weak, the weak victims of the strong: there you have Nature, there you have her intentions, there you have her scheme: a perpetual action and reaction, a host of vices, a host of virtues, in one word, a perfect equilibrium resulting from the equality of good and evil on earth.”
Well, at the rate I'm going... I will own the entire Moon within the next 5 years or so. For those of you that are hatin on me, don't come crawling to MY Moon after the next World War when the Earth is completely radioactive and uninhabitable
You can't sell something you don't own, well you can but you can't deliver so the seller is liable for damages. This applies to the moon as well as the EiffelTower. Anyone can sell the EiffelTower but you can't deliver it and that's the problem (delivery does not only refer to physical delivery but also legal transition).
there was a UN treaty setup a few decades ago to agree that space belonged to all humans, and that it should not be used for military purposes.
unfortunatly though there is no universal laws that cover the space above a country's airspace - so essentially any country can do what they want there.
it's not illigal to sell land on the moon, or stars for that matter, there are no laws against it, but there are no laws that support ownership either
