No way it will flop. Will be one of the top 3 summer movies. Would be a lock for the top movie if it had a lot of space after it, but studios got smart and put big movies starting the following weekend.
The last 2 sucked but from what I've read I'm optimistic that this one will make up for it.
YARGH! I can't wait. Me carrot be waxed. Me mast be polished. Got me tickets for the midnight showing! YAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

i went to see a private screening yesterday, i am not going to tell you the movie, but believe me, this will not be lucas's last one. If it is he sucks for that. But it's ONE of the best sci-fi's of all time. Nothing can knock off the original STAR WARS.

Ummmmm this is Episode 3 and Star Wars is episode 4. This is the last one.
It's quite obvious what will happen. This is a pure guess. Think about all the characters that were still alive in parts 4-6. Everyone else dies in this movie.
Lucus did say he was working on a TV series that will cover the time between parts 3 and 4, but not with any of the characters in the Star Wars movies.
I think it will do well. Am actually looking forward to it as the reviews have been good. Will it be able to remove the stench from the last two? Hope so, but man, those movies were horrible.
I agree with most ppl; the first two, from the original series, Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back, were the best. Then it went downhill fast.

I don't get what people thought was wrong with part 2? It ties in the story. Sorry if that bores people, but it necessary. You can start to see how Anikan was able to be persuaded to go to the dark side, the relationship with Padme had to be established. ewhat you wanted anikin to go from being 10 to being a daddy with ZERO explanation inbetween? You see how Palpatine is twisting everything to go his way. You see Obi Wan go from student to teacher. You see how Bobo Fet came to be. You see how the Clone Wars that Obi Wan mentions in Star Wars started. You also see why Luke ends up where he does.

How about terrilbe direction resulting in terrible, wooden acting performances from otherwise brilliant actors? Or the forcing of Boba and Janga Fett into the storyline because Boba Fett was one of the most popular action figures from the first 3 movies? He was nothing but a bounty hunter for crissakes.
Gator, the script was horrible.........dialogue like:
Anakin tells Padme: "I don't like the sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating--not like you. You're soft and smooth."
Does dialogue get any cheesier than that?
And this is coming from me, a fan of the original series. Those last two movies stunk. But, the good news is, the advance word on the 3rd one is that its really good. So lets hope he finishes off the series the way it should be.
On another note, check out the toon series, "The Clone Wars." Those are really good cartoons. I was surprised.

I hope he's going to do another trilogy, the one featuring the Admiral Thrawn

Originally there were supposed to be nine starwars movies. Seems unlikely that episodes seven, eight and nine will ever get made. Lucas has said he isn't going to make them also there's already so much post ROTJ literature that it would be hard to fit in a new set of movies.

I take it you've never seen the originals. Plenty of mediocre acting and cheesy lines. Did C3PO not have any chessy lines in ANY of the first 3 movies?
Alec Guiness portrayal of Obi Wan was "wooden". And he's one of all time greats.

Exactly. They just didn't seem so cheesy for some of us because we were 5 to 15 years old when we saw them.
That being said. I loved Star Wars then and I love it now.

Well I'll agree the first movie of this recent trilogy was too long and had unecessary scenes like the udnerwater scene and the pod racing. Could have had more Darth Maul and more explanation how this all ties into the rest of the story. I think part 2 does this better. You can see how Palpatine was able to manipualte the situation to his favor. Also if you notice the son and his wife of man that bought Anikin's mom out of slavery are also Luke's "Uncle and aunt" in Star Wars. Jimmy Smitts character is a Senator from Alderan( hmmm isn't Princess Leia from there ). See I don't know any actually shit about EP 3 and yet I can see where this is all headed. $1000 says Mace Windu( and every other jedi except Yoda and Obi Wan ) and Padme die.

I disagree. I don't think Alec Guiness's acting was wooden. There was also light-hearted sense of humor running through the first two original movies missing in the last two. Those first two star wars movies had a magical quality.........the last two were cold and dour, almost expressionless. My favorite would have to be Empire.
Even Liam Neeson has come out and said he was glad to be killed off and not be a part of the rest of the franchise. He implied strongly the last 2 movies, including the one he was in, stunk. I agree.
But I am optimistic this 3rd and last one will be really good.
