Expired domains page rank are all getting crunched by google at the moment.
The only question is ,for how long will they keep them at pr0?
I guess 12 months.
No, the answer I gave was pretty much on the money. If you purchase an expired domain Google will have it reset for only a certain amount of time, but as I stated all you really have to do is keep the inbound links up to par, and you won't lose so many points on it. As WG also pointed out, if you purchase an expired domain that has an original PR of 8, chances are pretty good you'll end up with a PR6 or PR5, assuming you keep up the inbound links.

and does the first url above get a higher PR because its right off the root?
Thanks!
I would say that both have an equal chance at getting some good rankings. I believe, but some people may disagree, that you can only put so many keywords into your domains and directories until it gets filtered.

Yeah, I believe GFY gets spidered by Google. Whether or not it will help your PR is up in the air. I don't think it will, but if you feel like spamming away go for it I guess and tell us how you do.

No your answer and wg's is misleading.Google is now for the first time crunching all expired domains pr and its no longer a matter of a couple of months till they reinstate whatever pr is left, to the site.
Originally posted by crockett what the heck is up with yahoo sence it went away from being google powered? I used to have some nice traffic from search.yahoo.com several #1 positions but once they switched to their own system I lost it all and it still hasn't come back.
What the hell is yahoo looking for? I've got google covered but I can't seem to yahoo.
To figure out Yahoo, just read up on Inktomi. But then again, we may start to see more of the Overture Site Match and Content Match crap showing up on the SERPs, rather than just the PFI domains. I like Yahoo's traffic, but since they have so many shareholders to pay off, and lets not forget the purchase of Altavista, Overture and FAST/ATW to pay off as well, they are truly diluting the shit out of their once really good SERPs..

Originally posted by johnbosh my site haves several inbound links now (made 20 new trades) But google hasn't changed it for 2 months now, what could be it?
Don't worry, they'll be updated shortly I'm sure. And also, just to add something to a new trader, try and get inbound only links without trades, it will help you out in the longrun.

Originally posted by wvuatl So NiteChatDotTV, what do SEO specialist companies actually do after you pay them tons of $$??
Are they basically just doing all of your tips combined or do they just know people at Google + other SE's?
It depends on the company. Some companies have ties with insiders, most don't. SEO is a pretty basic idea, but requires a lot of time, and effort to be put into it in order for it to work. Depending on the SEO firm you hire to do your SEO work, they do pretty much all of the basic stuff we touched up on here, but on an enterprise level, or at least they should.

Yah, I actually based my answer on this because I remember searching for something and a GFY thread showing up in the SERPs.
