quick question I just finally started one of these groups..
is there anyway to post messages in HTML format? IE so I could post pictures and link them directly to the paysite or gallery. With out having to post the url with the refer id and everything else showing plane as day..In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.Comment

You can use Yahoo's web-based mail to directly paste pics or you can use Outlook and HOTLINK your pics in.

really, is there maybe a setting that has to be turned on in the group control section? Because I tried posting some normal HTML and it just showed up as the code when posted.. Why? you can send to 10 groups at once (up to several hundred)-- Yahoo webbased mail limits your sends
Also Outlook allows you to copy and paste from your hotlinkable server straight to the compose mail window.
Tips on not getting banned or deleted:
1) Keep your ads to your groups
2) Keep ads to less than 10% of total mail sent to your group
3 Watch out for those "bullet" groups--ie., if you send to those groups you get on Yahoo's delete list.Comment

If you arrange your maintenance routine well, you'd be hitting dozens of thousands of groups a day.

Look for the ModelPerfect post in this thread....go to the database they made, type in a keyword.
Go to each of the Yahoo groups listed under that keyword and join them IF the group says "Unmoderated, all members may post"
Each group has their own email address, when you send to that email address, everyone in the group gets the email, if they have it in their preferences to get email, if not, the email will show up under "messages" and they will see it when they go to the group.
You can set up your email as described in the thread to send email to everyone...I didn't bother with that. I just click on My Groups, go to the first group, hit hahahahahaha paste my message and then click Send then go on to the next.
Be sure to create your own group and include the URL to it in your posts so members will join your group.Comment

Exactly right. Yahoogroups is a vehicle for sites to give its loyal base of past members/visitors a sample of current offerings. Its a great tool. You can also upload small vid clips with popups in them and announce it to the whole list. You get DOUBLE bang for your buck. Make sure you use a cookie on the pop embedded script though (so folx don't get too annoyed)

Also, DO NOT attach the pics to your emails to your groups. HOTLINK them from your server for easier transport -- specially if you are mailing out to HUNDREDS of groups as part of your maintenance routine.Comment
