Five Million New HIV Cases in 2003

The global AIDS epidemic expanded in 2003 with five million new infections and three million deaths, according to a global report released today by the Joint United Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).

There are currently 38 million people living with the virus worldwide, according to estimates, with the greatest number -- 25 million -- in Africa alone. The report emphasizes that the epidemic manifests itself in different ways in the various regions of the continent. While seven Southern African nations have prevalence rates ranging from 17 percent to more than 35 percent, West African nations generally have prevalence rates in the one to five percent range.

Complete load of crap. Read an in-depth article from some doctors talking about the differences in the methods they use to test for AIDS. Notably, you can be tested in America and come out clean . . . fly to Africa to be tested and be diagnosed with AIDs. Beautiful.

This kind of crap is reported just to keep the level of fear up.

Druggies usually have an addiction so it's not necessarily their fault and if governments gave them clean needles and a place to do their thing then HIV wouldn't be spread that way.

People who don't get tested or don't have the education of knowing how to prevent the spread should start getting tested or start learning, though it's hard to reach everyone.

No, simply because the amount of deaths in the first world (the people who write the text books), are almost nonexistent.

Check out the CIA FactBook for each country. They list the numbers of infected people in each country and how many total deaths.

In Europe and USA, aids almost does not exist in the white, non IV drug using, heterosexual world. The problem is no one talks about this when they throw out these stats on the nightly news.

100% correct. There was a guy from UN on BBC a couple months back saying in Africa, that no matter what you die of they call it 'AIDS'... They are trying to fleece the world community for more money.

Granted I will not be banging any Africans anytime soon, as they do sport a high rate of infection.

Governments giving needles? No way. We do not need govt involved in this sort of thing, they already fuck up enough shit.

No regulations on the purchase of needles is what is need. If you can afford a $20 bag of smack, you can afford a $.10 syringe.

If I had to deal with some govt pinhead everytime I wanted to shoot up some junk, I would share needles too. If I could go into Wal Mart and buy a box of 10 for a few dollars, I would opt for Wal Mart over the govt anyday.
