I'm hoping it's not lost on you that rates of HIV infection among heterosexuals - especially young heterosexuals - are likewise increasing. Sometimes at drastic rates.
No one could justifiably dispute that among homosexual males, HIV is most definitely an issue.
But attempting to paint HIV as a gay man's disease leads to a false sense of security among straight people who assume they're free from risk.
Look at straight porn, afterall. With almost no condoms to be found anywhere and this testing program that seems to disregard HIV's dormancy period in test results?
If people think that rising infection rates, unsafe sexual practices and the likelihood of being infected with HIV are problems unique to homosexuals, they're not doing themselves any favors nor in possession of a very informed view on things.
