fact: cases of HIV amongst straight women are on the rise too
You seem to have lived at ground zero of the American end of the epidemic. A lot of us remember friends dying at huge rates. I was young but worked in peer to peer HIV education since I was in my early teens so I too experienced many friends and mentors dying. Infact, I went into a supreme depression in my junior year in high school when I was hearing on an almost monthly basis of another teeneager I knew that had died.
However, don't even try to suggest that gay men are the only people who have unprotected sex. Don't even try to say they are the only ones with STDS. I would rather any kid I ever have be gay than ignorant and bigotted.
