Absolutely one of the best films I have seen in a while. Really good and worth the subtitle read.

dubbing is for wussies and it robs the actors. Plus, you miss out on the real emotions of the characters.

If it is a good film you hardly notice you are reading and that is the case with City Of God. Very good film. If you have the dvd there is a documentry on there about the real town and that is even more chilling.

Agreed totally! Dubbing sucks nuts, I think it should be banned :P Subbing is where it's at (read the subs you'll get used to it!. Or at least put two different versions in the dvd so people have the option.

If you have an All Regions DVD Player than you can buy the double disc Brazil DVD which includes 4 different audio tracks and a shit load of extras. I was kinda bummed by the weak U.S. DVD
