And if you're easy to buck off, shorten your stirrups one or two notches, and when you're sitting in the saddle, sit up straight & push your heels down. If your heels are down & toes are up, it's a LOT harder for your ass to budge anywhere.  The difficult part is keeping heels down without your toes sticking out to either side & up.
Give it a try, you'll see.  Is he just green broke?

he is 16 1/4 trainer said he has yet to completely fill out. And yeah, learning how to position your feet is essential, and not easy. I would say he is more than just green broke. He was rejected from the race track because he was not fast enough, so I guess he had to be broke pretty good for them to judge his racing abilities. I doubt he will buck anyone, I'm just not going to take a chance yet. Maybe this weekend I will get on him. I have been riding another horse at the stable. This is all new to me.
