actually i'm really serious. i've been playing soccer like crazy for the last year...so i've gotten into decent shape, but i've neglected my abs totally.
any specific back exercises? deadlifts? backpress? etc...

Do you go to the gym? Gyms usually have several different back machines. The one that will do the most benefit to your abs is the low back extension machine. If your gym has the "Strive" version, that's even better. Five minutes/day on this machine AND five minutes/day on the abs machine (preferably "Strive" again) and you'll see significant results within 5 weeks.

i have all freeweights, no gym...hmmmmm maybe i'll just do a monthly membership so that i can use some machines

For 1 1/2 years I used my home gym and some freeweights. Less than 2 months ago I joined Gold's Gym and the difference is very noticeable. The gym machines are far superior. I'm actually giving away all my home equipment.
Change your diet, you can eat your way to a sixpack if you eat right and if you have a belly to start with, 2 to 300 crunches a day or every other day won't hurt either to flatten your stomach.
It's not as bad as it sounds start with 2x50 reps upper abdominal, then do obliques 2x50 for each side and you're done
