Judo doesn't train for someone punching at them, that's it's inherent weakness, it's a sport. BJJ on the other hand, trains for kicks and punches, for the take down and subsequent submission.

6 months of BJJ, is a different story, it's still has more of it's combat roots. But I agree, 6 months of Judo isn't enough. A blackbelt though, whoa watch out.
Yeah, no doubt. I took Seikado first as a kid until Brown Belt. After that I boxed on the Indian Reservation in North Vancouver followed by a few years of Muay Thai. The only useful things from the Karate I found were some of the pressure points and the mental discipline.
