    Guerilla Site Advertising

Have any of you site owners every tried to advertise your site in unconventional ways? I've been pondering placing my site name along busy streets and freeways by writing http://tenderz.net on a piece of cardboard, attaching it to a stake and driving it into the ground.

Also, is tv and radio completely out of the question? I haven't researched what they will and will not allow, but if radio will allow the advertisment of strip clubs, then why not advertise your porn website?

Then there's there's the method of placing your site name on cardboard and holding it up at baseball, football and basketball games.. I'm thinking this might be the least effective, unless you got your site name on national TV by some grace of god...

    Anyway.. whaddya think?

You might run into a problem with attracting the wrong kind of attention. If a kid gets busted surfing your site & tells his mom he saw the URL while watching a basketball game or whatever, you might have some angry parents out for blood.

I have some friends who have had good success placing ads in their local papers with the "local girls gone wild" angle. Of course, that's in the adult entertainment section. ;)

Try placing ads in local swingers or alternative lifestyles papers. In Southern California, these papers are the ...WEEKLY papers (LA Weekly, OC Weekly, etc etc)
