    PAY PER MEGABYTE - new billing system ?

    Just found this on a site:

    HOW WE CHARGE - 29ยข/MB
    We charge for the amount you want to use, as you use it. We feel this is much better than being charged on a monthly basis for acess you will probably not use, or continue to be charged when you forget your password or username. We don't work that way.

          Yeah I think it is a pretty good idea. But 29c/per MB, is a bit too high don't you think.

              but buying credits .. is not something realy new .. just not much used.

                      so i could download 100mb from them for $29 or join a good quality paysite and download a few hundred times that amount?

                              doesn't make sense for porn.... I add a week two movies of 700 megs each! included in the monthly fee ....

                              700 megs x .29 = $ 203.00 to download the film...
                              I know that Asspimple is stoopid ... As he says, it is a FACT !

                              But I can't figure out how he can breathe or type , at the same time ....

                                  This may attract new surfers who have no paysite experience and this system sounds fair to them, or surfers who had been ripped off by paysites ( by hidden crossales - and they don't know what cross sales are, they just feel like being billed a few times ).

                                          i planning to do this in middle of 2002 - but people tell me what this be very hard to selling thing. it why i drop this idea. we even have almost ready system for this - it like prepaid GSM phones - you buy card with number on it - and recharge your account.

                                          here a lots of ways how sell these cards - even at ebay - because it charge balance per mb downloaded - so it possible to use it for MP3 or videos.

                                          i see now some sites in my country who selling access this way for customers of other ISPs - we have extra high cost here per Gb.

                                              You can buy bandwidth now for less than 50 cents a gig, its been this way for over 2 years now.
                                              Why would anybody turn around and pay 290$ a gb today?

                                                          Well if you call 29ct a minute overcharging you should kick dialers out of the window.

                                                          You pay up to e.g. 1.86? a minute here in Germany for a shitty dialup connect. WHat do you think you can download in 1 minute with a shitty 56k?
                                                          SIG TOO BIG! Maximum 120x60 button and no more than 3 text lines of DEFAULT SIZE and COLOR. Unless your sig is for a GFY top banner sponsor, then you may use a 624x80 instead of a 120x60.

                                                              Yeah, i wanted to say it too - it's cheaper than the dialers.
                                                              And who knows, maybe he's quite happy with his billing model.
                                                              Not sure how are the charge backs though
