Getting sued over search engine cloaking

Well, one of my scripts apparently had this womans name in it. I can see how the name got in, it contains one of my broad keywords that I used to harvest the others. Anyway she says I've destroyed her life and she's talked with the NY state attorney general. As of now I've redirected all my traffic from that script to her web page.

A C&D would have been nice. Anyone been in this situation before?

No lawsuit yet. It wasn't to an adult site, but there were a few toolbar popups. Nothing illegal.

It was some kind of opera singer. She's pissed cause my pages come up under her search results. Her relevant sites are above mine anyway.

Turns out I got less than 10 hits in june to her listings, most probably from her and her lawyer.

I just redirected the spots I "stole" from her to her page. They only get 10 hits a month anyway. She's not pressing charges.

But my parents(who I still live with and am still paying off a massive lawyer fee from a seperate occasion) cancelled my cable internet and told me to get a real job.

So basically, time to find a new place or work out of starbucks

Starbucks would be cool, but not sure about all day there. I would be shaking too much from caffeine overdose to type after two coffees. I am a wuss when it comes to coffee.

Yeah man I'm gonna have to continually order bottles of water or something. Then again I only work an hour a day max.

I'd take her seriously..not worth the gamble. I deal with this shit ALL the time with webmasters using my name to grab my SE traffic and it pisses me off . I do pursue it to no end......

I hate SE spammers and I really hate that some webmasters obviously don't trust the names of models that their sponsor actually Does offer, so they seek out other models names to promote their sponsors

i wouldn't do that, i'd just do what he did and redirect to her site and drop the keywords.

not like he's getting many hits anyways, not worth the hassle. someone stubborn with too much money might just go after you if you piss them off. after all they could use it as an opportunity to get free advertising on the local news...
