    Poker: Bad Beats

    Im playing a $50 sit and go on Party Poker and the first hand I have pocket 8s. Tons of people in the pot and the flop comes 88T. I practically come on myself when someone raises me all in. I assume he has pocket tens and made the boat. I call, he shows pocket tens and you guessed it .... the turn was a motherfucking TEN!!!

    Ahhhhhhhhh!! I have such a love/hate relationship with this game. I've always been competitive but no game or sport has ever filled me with such rage at times. I turn into a five year old and heckle players who play badly but get lucky. I sit in the room and wait for them to lose and then make fun! I am a grown ass woman, what is my problem? lol I'm addicted!

                      Eve, I find online poker has much more action than regular poker -- the hands are ridiculous. It's pretty rare to see 4 of a kind offline, but online in tournaments, you see them like every 3 or 4 hands. Also, I find that it's rarely just one good hand at a time. If I have pocket pairs, usually one or 2 other people do also, online.

                      It's my belief the action has been artificially cranked up online. Whatever algorithms they use have been tweaked to produce exactly the kind of result you got mauled by.

                          At partypoker I get good starter pockets when I post the blind bet. Other hands I get shit starters.. strange!

                                      Buff, I go back and forth on this. I think it seems like things are skewed only because you see SO many more hands than you ever will playing live. I've been playing for a year and I've had quads and straight flushes a few times in live games and about the some online. I wasn't really complaining about online poker, in fact playing on Party Poker is definitely profitable for me. I get pissed off and complain about the idiot players who call with terrible cards and get lucky, for instance, I had pocket aces and some moron called me with K5 off and his 5 made a flush!! The flip side is that those bad players have made me plenty of money!

                                                              2 quads in the same hand the odds of that are pretty HUGE... that is a bad beat indeed. that's about the time your posting on a poker site that the game is fixed.
