the house we bought, was owned by 1 lady, she never married or had kids, and she took care of her mother, til the mother died. When she passed away, she left the house a local church. Our realitor said that when the church got access to the house, it was like a feeding frenzy. He said that about 20 little old ladies pounced on the house like rabid beasts! They were ripping clothes off hangers, trying things on, going through the jewelry boxes, they even had a local jeweler here, doing appraisals on site! They set up tables in the front lawn, and sold everything out front. The ladies were buying things up for themselves and everything else went into the garage & the lawn. When the last of the customers left, they boxed up the stuff and took it to the church basement. The offical from the bank said the same thing, that they wanted the highest bid possible for the house, because the money was going to the church. It's amazing how people act when they have something to gain from someone else.
The only thing they didnt take was a brick of cheese that was dated from June 04 in a bottom tray in the fridge and the 6 boxes of baking soda in the fridge and freezer! (perhaps REMOVING the cheese would have been better than adding the baking soda!)
