Eh, at least he's doing it through cinema and not oil

Doing what through cinema and not oil? Getting rich? I don't have anything against the guy hustling to get rich. I just don't want to be told not to download because if I give MM money I "send a message to Bush." I'm not that gullible.

Could you please explain how lining MM's pockets will help "take our country back." VOTING Bush out of office will do this, not paying to see a movie.

There is one single theater in my entire country even showing it, and not surprisingly, that theater is in Amsterdam. So, I think my downloading it is justified.

Okay, you have an excuse, sort of...So by all means, download it and watch this movie. But for the others, I strongly encourage you to see this movie in the theatres.

Here is another reason why you should see this movie in theatres: Several conservitive groups are eoncouraging conservatives who want to see the movie to go and purchase a ticket for another movie showing at the same time as Fahrenheit 911, and then instead go into the 911 theatre, hence deprive Moore from the money.

and um, that income? You do realize the movie theater owners aren't writing Moore a check for $21 million, right?

So, you're saying, if he made very little money, his arguments would have more merit?
roughly 90% of your movie ticket does NOT go to the theatre....that's why they sell all those overpriced concessions

haven't heard any numbers but i'd guess most of it's going back to Moore as with Gibson and his Passion movie (man is he rich beyond my wildest dream)

Seriously, if the goal is to "get the message out" than neither Moore nor you should care about how many dollars Moore pulls in. You don't need to "support" Michael Moore's ability to purchase more expensive property in the Hamptons, you need to get out and vote.

I had to download F911 since the nearest place showing it is 3 hours away.

Copies are circulating around at local colleges and although this is a solidly Republican area, more people seem to be angry at the White House than with Michael Moore. If it hits the theatres here, it will be interesting to see the size of the audiences.

I'm starting to get the impression that a lot of the nay-sayers on GFY have adopted that position because they think it is cool. The repetition of borrowed rhetoric suggests that most don't have a clue what they are talking about and nothing of their own to say.

One of the most repeated lines is the nonsense that Moore's material came off the "conspiracy theory" websites. Sure some of what Moore includes in his film has appeared on the whacko sites. But the original sources were mainly mainstream European newspapers or TV stations. I'm still waiting for someone, anyone, to point out a specific factual error.
