                  Looks pretty good if you intend on using as a laptop and moving around a fair bit...I got a Toshiba p4 3.02GHZ HT laptop with a 17" screen but i use it as a desktop machine and dont move it much

                                      really? I have heard nothing but great things for the centrino

                                      besides, I want my laptop for only a "by the pool" and traveling reason, my desktop is just fine, don't need a replacement

                                                                                                                                              centrino are for pimps not for pussies, my battery lasta 3.5 hours, show me an athlon that lasts more than 1.5.

                                                                                                                                              also centrino @1.5 is like a p4 @2.6 because it has 1mb cache... I I can tell it's way faster tha my desktop , [email protected].

I'd never blow that much on a laptop. I can't do real work on a laptop. So with mine its usually for checking email and stats and shit on the road.. and you don't need a workhorse to do that.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      centrino 1.4 compares to a P4 2.6-2.8 because of the cache and bus speed difference

                                                                                                                                                                                                      the highest centrino currently available is (I THINK) 1.7ghz(which would compare to a P4 3-3.4ghz)

                                                                                                                                                                                                      the reason I got a 1.4 was because this was an Ebay auction and I couldnt really choose

                                                                                                                                                                                                      also centrinos have MUCH improved battery consumption (they consume much less = more battery life) and awesome wireless connectivity!
