Best way to help the troops = get rid of Bush.

If you're going to go on a Christian imperialism rampage, the least you can do is give them all flap jackets and proper food. Overpaying Halliburton to do a piss poor job giving the troops food, how do these guys sleep at night?

BTW...nice of you to post the links KRL. I do my share by helping the families of friends that I personally know that are still on active duty. Many assholes on this board...the likes of Richy boy...will just bash the administration...and ignore the links.

STFU, our tax dollars have supposedly went to help the troops, now tell me where all those BILLIONS went, not to who need the most...before they got shipped off they didn't even have the vests...i hear they gotta rotate wearing each others vest...lame

Did you even look at the links.. they are not asking for guns and tankes or "flap jackets" they are asking for care packages ie playing cards, books and footballs.

Yeah them roadside bombs are really killers, the HumVee's are such incredible piece's of shit for protection that the soldiers have to put kevlar vests on the floor and door panels of the vehicle.

Persuade 100,000 people to donate $10.00 each, you would raise $1 million: take out all the expenses and then split what is left between all the troops out there and their families... the point is obvious.

Persuade 100,000 people, to start writing and emailing their senators and congressman about the dismal treatment of military on active service, maybe about why they are in Iraq and Afghanistan at all, and you could achieve a much greater and more lasting benefit.

"HumVee's" were not designed to be APC's and any armor that is imposed upon them would be minimal protection at best...and would work to defeat the performance of the "HumVee".

The troops have "vests"...they all do not have the latest state of the art "vests". These are in production and are being distributed as fast as they are produced...that is part of the "BILLIONS" you are speaking about. FYI...the newly passed defense budget...includes...making certain temporary pay permanent...and a COLA of...I believe of 3 plus percent. Military personell have always been under paid and I suspect will always be under paid.

The troops are there because the Congress and the Administration percieve that it is in America's national interest...to be there.

If you are really that concerned about the troops...then write to your congressmen and tell him to raise your taxes...so that more billions can be added to the defense budget...so that the troops can be supplied with more Bradlys and Strikers...the additional man power to supply and maintain them...as well as additional heavy lift air/sea craft to get them into theater and the additional personell required to supply and maintain the heavy lift.
