What would you do if you found 200 pounds of bundled marijuana?
ARIZONA DAILY STAR - 04.21.2005
A 150-acre wildfire burning in the Patagonia Mountains is expected to be contained Thursday evening.
The Antonio Fire was discovered burning in a remote location on Coronado National Forest land Wednesday afternoon.
Crews expect to have the fire, near the ghost town of Duquesne, contained by about 6 p.m. today, officials said.
No structures are threatened.
Crews working the blaze found about 200 pounds of bundled marijuana within the fire?s perimeter. Officials estimate about 800 pounds had been abandoned along a known smuggling route but that much of it burned up in the fire.
The marijuana was turned over to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
Evidence indicates the fire was human caused, but the investigation continues, officials said.
