What does Lensman care for the "quality" of this board? The search never works, there is almost no moderation, etc..He still makes whatever he makes from it. Less than 6 word replies are one of the least consequential factors affecting quality of this board in my opinion. And as far as Lensman is concerned, I think that would probably be a good thing.

There might be a few ars siggers who posted usefull things, but the many sigwhores on the other side created a bad vibe for the good posters. Some people might not even take one seriously when using an ARS sig.
I guess what irritates me is the ARS bashing all of the time, grouping every person who flew their button as some sort of sig whore, trailer park trash. That is simply not the case.
Take for instance pimpdogs program. Man that guy chapped my ass...but if someone flew his programs banner and they were nice..I didn't hate them simply because of the program banner.Comment

The main problem with ars in the beginning was that all the quality posts/business posts moved off the first page in the blink of an eye. Long and short of it is.... sigs are a privilege, not a right.
If you abuse that privilege, it will be taken away... you learn that lesson as children, or at least should.
This decision to allow "per impression" purchases of sig is an extension of that privilege.
So long as it's not abused, everyone will be happy. End of story.Comment
