He said there would be 111 popes from the time he wrote down their names / cluses to their names! When you add up the popes that already had been pope to the 111, you get 266.
And about the jewish comment. When you translate "Gloria olivæ" you get "Glory of the Olives." The olive is a symbol of judism. So some scholars speculated that the next pope may have been of jewish origins.
The thing to remember about St Malachy is that he simply wrote down clues to the names of popes and that was it. In some cases he wrote their names down. But mostly it was just clues. Until the time the pope is elected, all people can do is quess what he ment by his clues. And like I said, one of the guesses is the next pope would have come from judism, which that theory has now be laid to rest.
