I've lived in South Florida all my life and Southern Cali for all of a week and a half

.. and as of right now I still think Florida's weather is better, I never minded hurricanes (and I lived through Andrew) I'm waiting to see how bad my first earthquake freaks me out .. Its much colder out here (which I'm sure is an advantage during the summer) .. and hazy .. Florida doesn't ever have haze .. but when the weather is warm and clear, this place is amazing.

.. Beaches .. Florida wins .. hands down .. the Diplomat doesnt count as a South Florida Beach .. Ft. Lauderdale has sand .. doesnt take you 10 min to reach the ocean .. and when you get there .. you can actually enjoy the surf and not get hypothermia by sticking your feet in the water. Plus the water is a prettier blue out there, here its really dark.

.. People .. score one for California .. a big one .. I've never experienced random acts of kindness like I have here. I've been told all my life that people in Florida just aren't that nice, but I never knew anything else, now I can see what they were talking about.

These are just my opinions as a recent transplant .. I'm sure the longer I live here the more I'll grow to love this place. I've been told that the summers here cannot be beat, and I picked up a beach cruiser this weekend so I wont have to deal with traffic or parking when the crowds come.

Florida and California both have strong positives and negatives .. you just have to figure out what you value to choose which, (if either) is best for you.
