    Infected e-mail from [email protected]

    Yeah yeah yeah ! Just got an infected with a Win32.HLLM.Netsky.based virus e-mail message from that address .
    But God bless drweb ... it didn't go through

    what did the topic say? something about your email account was damaged? or something? i got one from my own domain - where it said my account was damaged and i should click a link - which i obviously didn't.

      Ofcourse, you all know most viruses spoof the "from" header, right?

              You'd be surprised at the number of people who have no clue about that fact. I talk to webmasters all the time who don't even know how to view the full headers in an email.

                I've gotten threatening hate mail from people who have gotten viruses from addresses @mydomains.com.

                E-mail fraud pisses me the fuck off. I'm sick and tired of innocent people who think that I'm sending them malicious mail. It's not fair to expect everyone to understand how easy it is to spoof a header ("what's a header?").

                  So far, I've had to explain to three people this week that them getting viruses "from their own email addresses" did not mean that they themselves were infected. Since I don't know you, I have no reason to assume you are more intelligent than the average aol user
