my situation is pretty bad. I come from a long line of smokers in my family.
i smoked heavy since i was 18 and never thought anything would happen to me but like when i was 25 i started to get terrible IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) which i believe was caused by smoking, and could lead to something much more serious. A year later i started getting atrocious psoriasis on my legs (so bad i can never wear shorts).
Im no wimp but if you think smoking is okay and youre indestructable, go ahead. just know im suffering like hell right now and it could happen to anyone.
havent smoked much for over 3 years... sure i have one in a month or something but extremely rare for me to smoke now days. life is too important.Comment

okay that's one informative link.. also I heard that if you're gonna quit smoking be sure you'll never have to come back smoking again.. it will definitely (pathologically) ruine your lung tissues, the risk will be much higher... Usually, lung tissues are made up of long (epithelial ) cells if we smoke they will transform to a much tougher kind called squamous (mostly found in our outer skin) in time if you are on and off with smoking it will cause it to have metaplasia (multiple changes in cells) causing destruction to lung tissues..
Ok, I smoke... and cutting on a few sticks... maybe a few years from now, might be totally a non smoker...(but pls... i am in no hurry)lolLast edited by sniperwolf; 04-19-2005, 04:15 PM.

if you knew what every puff from a cig was doing to your body, and what exactly you were inhaling, you would stop smoking immediatly.Originally posted by sniperwolfokay that's one informative link.. also I heard that if you're gonna quit smoking be sure you'll never have to come back smoking again.. it will definitely (pathologically) ruine your lung tissues, the risk will be much higher... Oh, and my recomendation:
DONT USE A PATCH OR NICORETTE GUM....if you're gonna stop, just fuckin stop! Quit putting nicotene in your system. Theres people that have been on the patch for YEARS because they are still addicted to the nicotene.
Takes only THREE (3) DAYS for nicotene to get out of your system. After that, its 100% purly mental addiction. Take those 3 days, suffer through them and be done with smoking for good. If you can get passed 3 days, you can stop.

if you can get through the first 2 days, you'll be FINE!!!!!!!!! Just be strong for those 2 days, know that you're gonna have cravings (big time!!) and be REALLY bitchy...but day 2 is much better!!
Im on day 10 and i feel great both physcially and mentally, and the boyfriend said that i have been ALOT LESS bitchy since i stopped smoking
Dont give up!!!! Get'er Done!
