This has always made me wonder. We have several "Board Personalities" who create intrigue and drama in the sole effort of advancing their own name. Whenever they are called on it, they usually say something to the effect of how smart they really are because they are just branding themselves and it's not their real personality.

My question is if we all know the people doing this and what they are trying to accomplish, why are they still able to do this? I find it insulting that they think I'm stupid enough to fall for their little game.

For Christ's sake, we are fucking webmasters, not a bunch of surfers. You have people telling you what they are doing to you and you still fall for it.
