So now for some useful advice for those who travel frequently. If you have an hour or so to hang at an airport, pick a flight that normally sells out, and then if an announcement is made that they are looking for a volunteer to give up a seat, you accept a ticket on the next flight, plus they give you a voucher for a free flight at a later date (your next flight is free).
This is especially fun to do at the cool airports like Las Vegas.
