Toddler dies in stabbing - San Jose Mercury News
A two-year-old San Jose girl died early this morning after allegedly being stabbed repeatedly by her uncle.
San Jose Police spokesman Enrique Garcia said police received a 911 call at 12:43 a.m. Saturday from a neighbor saying that a baby had been stabbed. Police and paramedics arrived to find the baby with multiple stabbed wounds, and rushed her to the hospital. The baby, whose name has not been released, died a short time later at the hospital.
Police said the suspect, Emil Paguio, 33, lived in the home with the little girl's family. They said Saturday morning that on Friday night, the uncle attacked the baby girl for unknown reasons. His brother, the baby's father, intervened to try and stop the attack and was also stabbed by the suspect.
Paguio was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on murder and attempted murder charges, Garcia said.
Garcia said police have been unable to establish a motive for the case.
