"Government and laws" regarding the combination of sex & violence in content is ambiguous at best. So is the law regarding what types of regular porn is and is not legal in many regions. It's all about what is within the community standard of tolerance, and that line is being pushed back and forth every single day, with pro-censorists and the moral right on one side, and anti-censorists and the more liberal open-minded on the other.
As to the snuff question, there are fantasy snuff scenes on TV and in movies all the time, so it obviously should be legal to create fantasy scenes with that level of violence for the web. What I and some others have a problem with are the real, graphic scenes of real murder and death, like that Chechien video. I must admit that watching it bothered me some too, and I find it highly odd that a video like that is accepted and considered "news" but yet some people have a problem with an acted-out scene done with special effects. In one someone is actually killed, while in the other the actors all wash off the fake blood and go out for pizza and beers.
Now, what was your argument with me again?
