This industry reminds me of the video game industry a bunch of year ago (I was in there when Atari ST and Amigas were around). At that time, you could know a good portion of the players and feel 'close' to the others. Then owners and people really doing things stop going to trade shows, sending marketing guys instead, larger companies bought other smaller ones (or made sure to put them out of biz), big players from others industry came with lots of $$$ and it was the end of an era, begining of something else. There was a time when a video game could be done in a month or so, by a small group of talented people. Now it's more about years, hundereds of people and dozens of millions dollars. Reminds you of something?
