Not dead, quietly humming along. The traffic isn't what it was, but the ratios are still good.

With the demise of a couple affiliate programs went the domain names and then came more dissention...

We've also setup another gallery rotator w/ clean nightly scanned galleries for those wanting them (from tgp2gallerypool / tgp2base submissions) and tgp2traffic still has its rotator going.
V_Rocks.. not sure what you mean about the pop-up hells, most tgp2 sites are very clean, most aren't even running trade scripts and those that are are sending at least 70% to galleries...

When I went to the webmaster board that was originally posted I went to the first message about, here is my own TGP2 and clicked on it and then went to a gallery and when closing the window I went into popup hell. So I went 2 #2 on the list and surfed his galleries, same thing. Must have been just a coincidence then? From what I remember about the rules, TGP2 ARE supposed to be cleaner than TGP1?Comment

Unfortunately, in everyones' quests to become the biggest offering the most free porn, "selling" became secondary and people have found that the only way to compete is by giving away more and more "hoping" somebody buys. It sucks, but that is the reality.
I agree that it is probably almost dead, but it wasn't because it was a bad idea, it was because somebody came along and made movie galleries featuring twenty 30 second clips...Comment

I dont think it ever made sense because it was never a viable alternative. In other words, the differences from regular tgp galleries was too drastic. The stated objective of not giving away so much is fine, but they went about it the wrong way by limiting the quantity of content instead of the type of content. If anyone has ever seen a 15-20 pic gallery, and then sees a puny little 5 pic gallery, the difference just stands out too much. What they should have done instead is to concentrate on making the galleries much more webmaster friendly (pics on html, more ads allowed, etc) and limiting the content by type. In other words, make em pay for the good stuff. But the way they did it guaranteed they would never be able to compete for traffic. Still not too late to change, but not likely they will because you still hear them talking about how it really works etc.Originally posted by Lycanthrope
