Just another thing on the long list of things that kids these days won't enjoy. Whatever happened to common sense and taking time to be a parent?
I loved the cookie song. I loved learning to ride a bicycle on a 20inch with a banana seat and no brakes without a helmet. I learned to not eat pennies, pull the cat's tail, slam the door, and to stay off the kitchen counters by doing them all and learning the consequences. And when I misbehaved, I didn't get a time out. Instead, my daddy took time out of his busy schedule to whip my butt.
Why are we, (generally speaking, please don't try to kill me), taking all of the childhood out of childhood? I always thought that in order to grow and learn, one had to understand the whole "cause and effect" principle. If we can't let kids make mistakes or get hurt, how the hell wre they going to learn?!

Get this: Cookie Monster is no longer allowed to sing his "C is for Cookie" song on Sesame Street anymore. The words have been changed to something along the lines of "Cookie is a sometimes food...blah blah blah!!!"

Cookie Monster was my favorite character when I was kid and I knew that a cookie was just a treat because my PARENTS raised me to understand and respect that!
