Ah, if only NAFTA could be torn up. Canada would be far ahead of the game.
IMO Canada should unilaterally terminate that agreement. The US has extreme difficulties in playing by the rules of any treaty or organization* they're signatory to... why should we?
(* A partial but by no means exhaustive list of treaties and/or organizations who's rulings have been violated or ignored: NAFTA, WTO, the Geneva Conventions, International Land Mind Treaty, Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty...)
