hmm... I'm beginning to see how this one came to where it is.
JFK, believe me... I can attest to how it is with webgurl. I see her all the time as well, and end up with a lot of pics of her by the end of the night. However, I know full well before hand that she will not want any of those pics to be posted on any of the boards, or online at all.
It's just one of those quirks about her... some people eat the pickles off a burger before eating the burger... she just doesn't like anyone to see pictures of her. It's really not any more complicated than that.... although it sure would seem like it from the surface.
Also, for the fact of her having her picture taken.... I'll tell you, any time I've ever seen her out... for every picture taken of her, there's 5 of them she's not in because she did the "duck and cover." It's just that most wouldn't know it... because well... there's no pics.
I can fully understand her point of view on this to tell you the truth as far as the posing for pictures thing goes. I mean... you're out with fellow webmasters, having a good time. Someone walks up with a camera and suddenly everyone around you poses... you decline. What happens? Suddenly everyone around you thinks you're the party pooper and just being foolish and yatta yatta yatta. Especially if they're drunk.
I've seen webgurl go through it time and time again. People treat her like the littlest kid when she doesn't want her picture taken, and it can be a real mood killer for everyone... particularly for her, if she has to spend the next 20 minutes explaining that she doesn't want her picture taken.
I'm the same way with drinking... I just don't. But out with webmasters or friends, I have a few... it's just easier to do to make people feel comfortable around me and "let the good times roll."
Don't take it personally JFK... she's not doing this to bug you, or to be difficult.
It's just come to be one of those things about webgurl that we find cute... it's a quirk. Nothing more, nothing less.Comment

I was sort of off to the side so I really don't know what the argument was about, but....I did notice that JFK was visibly upset at Webgurl. Sort of funny come to think of it: this big guy yelling down at little Webgurl. ;-)
Point is, I'm sure she's not the first one to request her photo not be taken/removed, nor will she be the last. That's a fact of life in your line of work and you should respect the wishes of your subject matter.
If you did go off on her publicly like she says you did -- and quite frankly it sure appeared that way from what I remember -- than that shows an utter lack of class and professionalism. Maybe you were drunk, maybe you were having a bad day, whatever; if what she says is an accurate description of what transpired, the correct thing to do would be to apologize and buy her a drink at the next show.

The people that have their buttons on the bottom of those pics paid for the advertising, and it is not like everyone doesn't know what JFK (and to a lesser extent, me) are going to do with the pics.
Webgurl let me know early on she did not want me to take her picture, so I stopped, but the last day she told me I could take her picture. I was hesitant because I did not really want to take it just to have it removed . . . (but I did for my personal stash anyway)Comment

One incident was in SD and one was in ATL. People did not have to attend both shows in order to be involved. I also never said that they do not atttend any shows.
