Good point Fletch. I nearly got into a fight with an idiot once down here who was smoking at a gas station while filling his tank right next to me and I ran up to him and said are you fucking nuts smoking while filling up can't you read the fucking sign and know how dangerous that is.

Then the dumb fuck says oh sorry I forgot and just flicked his cig out of his fingers and it landed on a spot where a small amount gas had spilled on the ground which instantly lit up. Luckily an attendent had seen this and ran over quickly and dumped some chem stuff to put it out.

I have a friend that owns a fleet of helicopters he day leases to the Forestry Service whenever fires break out and they need extra copters to bring men in.

He's making a lot of money with it so I imagine the fires out west happen even more than you see on the news.

I'm really getting tired of all this anti smoking bullshit. I know smoking is not good but I don't think its as bad as a lot of these do gooders want you to believe. 100 years ago 75% of the population smoked and yet cancer rates were 1 out of 100. Today 30% of the population smokes and the cancer rate is 1 out of 2! Meaning everyone in this country now has a 50% chance of developing cancer sometime in their life. How do you anti smoking people explain that?

Personally I can't stand sitting in traffic or at a red light next to someone smoking. I always have my window about half way, and the smog is bad enough.

But people really shouldn't smoke around kids, that's not good at all.

Children tend to put their hands in their mouth about 16 times an hour while playing, and those who have arsenic on their hands are at an increased risk of developing lung and bladder cancer.

Some woods like redwood and cedar do not require this arsenic-containing preservative and are therefore not a concern. Plastic and metal equipment should pose no risk.

Electricity Power Lines

Children who live near electricity power lines are at an increased risk of developing leukemia. One theory to why this occurs is that the high voltage lines emit charged particles called ions, which may then be inhaled.

CT Scans

CT scans are high in potentially dangerous radiation, and pose a significant threat to children. CT scans, and traditional X-rays, have been associated with cancer and heart disease. I recommend you avoid CT scans unless your or your child's life depends upon it. MRIs are typically safer than CT scans.

I am going to have to agree with you. I see smokers all the time throw their butts out the window. It really pisses me off, it takes 15 years for the butts to decompose. Smokers just don't seem to fucking care and litter everywhere. There is alot alot of fires caused from this.

I also definetly think parents should not smoke around kids.

I think people can do whatever they want with their lives as long as it doesn't affect my health. I think though you should beable to smoke in your car but have very high fines for littering your butt and actually have police enforce it as much as seatbelts.

This law above I guess is more aimed at kids, I knda went off topic I guess but smokers are already being told not to smoke on certain streets here for OBVIOUS reasons.

If they started a fire in the hollywood hills they could essentially kill MANY people and burn down some of the most expensive homes in california within hours.

the roads are small and sometimes one way, fire fighters wouldnt even be able to get there in time. it would be chaos and HUNDREDS if not thousands would die.

I haven't smoked for over 6 years, when I did I always used to extinguish my butts and put them in an ashtray if at home or in the car or a bin if I was walking. People that litter really really really piss me off!

my counsiousness doesnt allow me to smoke in fornt of children period. i feel bad for the kids when their parents take them to smoking sections in resturants, and noone gives any shits about it in those places, most likely that's next on the ban list.
if adults smoke in houses where kids live, cars are no differnt except they're out in public.

on a contrary, i believe noone has any rights to tell you how to grow your own kids (that includes, what you do with them or in from of them) except your relatives and close friends, but i guess this country full of idiots and has to control even parenting?
