Seriously, does anyone DOUBT that there was SOME other power that got all of this started? Whether it was some alien race or whatever... Things don't JUST happen... they need some sort of catalyst.

Well, you and I will have to disagree on this one.
a) Unless there's a God who cares if I kill people or cheat on my taxes and is ready to do something about it, it's not a God worth thinking about.
b) You're applying a model of physics from the everyday world. Any physicist will tell you that everyday physics doesn't apply to the beginning of the Universe. The Universe probably sprang out of a state that can only be described as "pure potentiality."
c) Still it is strange to imagine that the Universe had a beginning and yet, as it now appears, will have no end, other than a state of absolute entropy.
