well, you asked for it, so i will opine, since this is a topic that interests me. (how to move the surfer to act.)

novelty is always interesting, and the quest for beauty is admirable. these images show attention to detail.

the photography is semi-competent.

but stylized posing is not effective for today's surfer.

what i'm saying is this:

all the raw material is here, people are attractive, but there is no heat.

heat comes from the illusion of authenticity. it is the difference between a tv soap opera where you see the acting, and cinema-verite', where you don't.

so it needs to be shot differently to be effective---of course it will be posed setups---but the viewer will believe it is reality.

and then, IMO, it will sell.

or, i will say this differently.

if you do a shoot such as this, be very critical of what makes the final cut.

most "content" producers just click,click,click and then show all of their mediocre images.

all photoshoots have really great compelling images, and then lots of mediocre images.

for example: the images you have selected in your sig are great compelling images.

the artist never lets mediocre images see the light of day, and certainly does not post them on the web where they take on a life of their own.

because doing this depreciates the total value of the artistic work.

probably no one will understand this. the surfer today responds to quality, not quantity.

I totally understand that..hell yeah...my wife also does understand that...while we shoot filler stuff for her site, she and her members get very excited with the sets that are morethought out and take time to do, over the quick sets that just fill space

I know what you mean, but running a members site it's getting a kind of difficult. I'm not sure if users would appreciate updates with 50 perfect pictures instead of receiving 200.

I don't wonna say this way that I put crap pictures online, of course I delete those with closed eyes or if the face is not coming good out on it, but the rest goes online.

I'm not sure about quality goes before quantity. Even if the preview says 20,000 pics they order easier then saying 2,000 high quality pics. Maybe I'm wrong ........

This is what I like to show but still got inquieries for hard stuff.

hard or soft does not matter so much in 2004, believe it. everyone by now has seen the most clinical hardcore imaginable.

what the surfer really wants is a connection with the content---he needs to "get into it"... and either hardcore or softcore can do this if done properly.

and this image is good enough to be worthy of comment.

a beautiful girl to be sure, beautiful hair, face, and mouth. good teeth, pretty nipples, nice hands and nails. discard what most of the naysayers here say, (many of them are pimpley-faced virgins living at home with mom---they wouldn't know what to do with a real woman---and the lingerie fetish is way over their heads.)

good color in photo, adding sheen for visual interest, all good technique.

but the surfer will look at this for 2 secs and go onto the next image.

just another pretty girl.

so how do we make the surfer stop in his fucking tracks...how do we get his attention.

we create the illusion of reality with this very beautiful girl.

and we create a whole portfolio of beautiful images just from this pose, but we change things around a bit.

this set should include:

1. tight facial shot, showing just face, looking into lens
2. tight full-frame shot of just wet lips and teeth
3. tight shot with wide angle 6 inches from girl's forehead shooting down her reclining torso, hand in crotch, face in ecstasy , assistant puts light mist from plant sprayer on girl's forehead
4. normal focal length for some shots wide open with limited DOF so distracting items are out of focus.
5. shoot all parts of her that are beautiful, shoot around or camouflage all parts of her that are not beautiful. (lots of beauty on this girl to be sure)

etc. etc.

my point being you can get 100 very unusual and beautiful shots just from this one setup by changing focal lengths, moving the girl around a little bit, and showing the types of images that no one ever has seen.

the raw material is there, this is a very pretty and photogenic model.

now shoot her like you are a 12 year old boy who has never seen a woman naked.

make it edgy, and make it believable.

and THEN you will stop the surfer.
