    Parking fines : how much do you pay ?

    Seriously, I just paid 150 euro's (about $200) for not having parked my car 5 meters from the closest corner (was about 3 meters).

    How much would this cost where you live ? AND do you think that I've done the right thing paying that fine ?

    I believe it's just a bit too much, living in the centre of a city with parking problems...

          My roommate ran up $1800 in parking tickets at our old appartment. You had to park in 2 hr parking or walk 1/4 mile. He just paid them all off when he moved.

                  I used to run up large fines per year in the past. The way I look at it is you do not get caught every time, you park where you want. In the long term its actually cheaper than paying for all the overpriced downtown parking.Its just a big hit all at once when you have to renew your plate or your drivers license. My last large ding was just under 1 k cdn for a year.

                          A fine here (sweden) is normally around 35 euros or double that in worse cases.
