Stanley Cup Laughs At Larry O'Brien Trophy

I know the NBA is bigger and more popular than the NHL but watching the celebration when a team wins the NBA championship and gets that shitty looking trophy compared to the celebration when a hockey team wins the Stanley Cup isn't even close. Maybe black guys are too cool. It's always anti-climatic.

anyway, congrats to the Pistons, I don't think i've ever seen a defending champion this badly owned in any sport.

    they're not a defending champion.

but yeah, they did get owned, i guess its shows the west isn't better in basketball, and that both conferences have completely different styles of basketball. I think Detroit winning is great for the NBA, it shows that one superstar can't always carry a team to victory. This series - teamwork and coaching won, no particular individuals.

The Stanley Cup celebration is cool as fuck, i think its stupid to see the team just standing in the center. I think it has to do with how so many people become on the court after the win... I'd rather just see the winning team with everyone in the stands.

i love that old coot - he's got hundreds of millions of dollars but he dresses like he's on a pension and shops at Walmart.

my uncle wasn't as rich as him but he was a millionaire and he was the same way.

That old man owns the WNBA Shocks who won last year. not bad 3 different Championship titles with 3 different teams.

I think its funny they always play "we are the champions" by queen to a a bunch of thuggy black dudes who have never heard it and had rather be called a pimp by a rapper than a champion anyway, lol.

Bill Davidson must be in a pretty good mood.

I wouldn't say that the celebration for the Lightning's Stanley Cup win was that extravagant:

"Tampa police Capt. Bob Guidara said there were an estimated 20,000 along the parade route, and 13,000 inside the forum"

If Florida wasn't Canada's 11th province, you wouldn't even have half that turn out. If Calgary had won the cup, you could add a zero onto the end of those numbers.

i wasn't talking about the civic celebration, i'm talking about the spectacle inside the arean when the Stanley Cup is won versus the same thing in the NBA. The Lightning celebration inside the arena was great to watch.

I am very happy for the owner, and Larry Brown!!

I also agree, nthing competes with Stanley Cup as a trophy - amazing tradition. NBA cannot do anything like it, it would be copying.
