I use the free submitters plus links from my own sites then check links on marketleap.com and some other free link checking programs.

I think the best ace in the hole is my links from my own site that is a business directory that has 17,000 pages. Freaking se's hit it about 3 to 5k per day. One link on the top of the front intro page and I'm crawled like mad by every se out there in 3 to 5 days. I got new se based traffic in as little as a week from Google and msn. On my regular sites placing Google adsense ad on the site seams to help with Google listing as the adsense bot crawls the site right then. Don't think that adsense thing is going to fly with my new adult sites though. Don't want to risk losing my adsense account, doing to good with that on my regular sites.

All the links from my big directory site are invisible 1x1 pixel links hidden in 3 places on the top left top right and bottom of the page. Plus If the site is important to me I'll ad a link to the other 100+ sites I own. Usually does the trick. The adult biz will be a new game for me though so I'll have to see what is up with getting the se's to list those.
