I must say that the invention of gunpowder has made it easier to kill people, as many other inventions - such as steel over iron, iron over wood, blunted wood objects over fists (to be totally basic on the subject).
Just because a device exists that facilitates an "easier" act of murder, doesn't make that device any more wrong to have been created. The actor was there to create the action regardless of the device used.
The actor being human and flawed. And flawed by negligence in upbringing and poor environment.
