often in war there are a zillions of factors involved which decide the ultimate fate.. including a lot of chance (read clausewitz)...but if u consider that around 80% of german casulties were suffered on the eastern front plus over 70% of german war output went towards supporting the war in the east..
u must say that the major factor for germany losing the war was the soviet union..
offcourse its a completely different debate trying to analyse the war assuming the soviets were never involved.. would be a good study to conduct on how the war would have turned out... though a study like that would probably not taken seriously by academics and would be pretty irrelavent.
