    Taking over existing site/ content need advice!

    I have recently been tasked to promote and possibly redesign an existing site and it's content. I am new to adult webmastering but have vast experience in website design and administration. The site I am currently taking over has about 20,000 pictures, all of which are unique to the site (in-house models not canned content). I have a few questions and luckily stumbled upon this fucking place. Fist of all (forgive me if this is in another post or FAQ) does anyone have any advice for newbies as to how to get started. I believe that we should develope some sort of niche as this seems to be the best way to set yourself apart from the rest of the sites. Second, I need advice on how to drive traffic to the site. And finally, is it even worth starting a picture only website?

    Any advice that you fuckers could give me would be greatly appreciated!

      Hey bro

      There's no harm in trying right? Is it worth putting together a photo-only site? Many others here can tell you what works for them (although, I think the percentage of people on this board are either TGP folks and designers / spammer companies - no offense intended)

      You have an established site. Before I would even worry about traffic, I'd clean it up. Yeah, I know it wasn't your doing, but it needs re-doing... you know that. I'll try to cover a few redesign things and go from there.

      #1 First things first. META TAGS! Here is what the source reveals on your site currently:

      As a webmaster, you're probably already familiar with this.

      #2 - You got it. Carve that niche. Look for top lists, link lists, TGP's etc that support an "erotic dancer" type niche. Granted, this isn't a big one, so there's places you'll have to settle on Babes, etc for categories.

      #3 - create hella galleries to feed to TGP's (or better yet, have them designed for you by one of the great designers here), getting traffic to your product. Your conern then is making your galleries convert. Now you become a server hawk, watching your stats daily to see which galleries are converting best. pull down the ones that aren't converting or aren't pulling the surfer to your domain.

      #4 - As for Top lists & Link lists... i'm sure you know that the more places linking to you, the better your Page Rank odds are. Get as many links back to you as you can.

      That's about all I can say for the promotional end of things, I don't claim to be any better at this than you!

      As far as the design goes, well, i'll add my anyway. The popular path for a paysite is >>> Warning >>> Welcome >>> Tour (3 or more pages if you can pull it off... the more the better these days) >>> Join

      Personally, I would dump PostNuke. Yeah, it created quick albums/galleries but they certainly don't match the site, and look extremely crappy. In fact, regarding my summary of your "niche", these galleries don't strike me as having anything to do with dancers... The girls may *BE* dancers, but there's very little to show the surfer that they are.

          Thanks for the info.... is there anyone on this site who may be interested in trying to promote the site when it is done? I definately need help driving traffic to the site. Ummm... I am actually kind of happy that all of the content isn't too centered on the idea of the models being "dancers" as I think that there are probably better niches and gimmics to use anyway. Are there any sites that anyone knows of that may have more info cenetered to webmastering promoting adult sites? Perhaps someone has knowledge on tools/software I can use to track all of the traffic and see what kind of traffic I am getting and where it comes from... I know of a few already but I would like to know if anyone has one they consider to be the "best". As far as the meta tags go... I don't think that I expect much traffic from search engines as there are so many results returned from searches it is hard to make it to the first 50 pages.

          I know this may not be the exact place to be asking these type of questions or for this type of subject but this is the closest I have come to finding a site about webmastering adult pages.

              I'll agree with that. It's hard as hell. But you should try. Keep in mind that the masses (the not-so-computer-literate folk) usually hit google for ANYTHING these days. Jeeves had his moment in the spotlight, and Yahoo! used to be king. Now, many of these companies are all run together, or at least use each others databases.
