So... let me get this straight... you apparently believe that the American Armed Forces, Joint Chiefs of Staff, all military advisors as well as the President and Commander in Chief thought a great strategy to enter into WWII was to see the entire Pacific Fleet destroyed in one day... knowing that the Pacific Fleet and controlling the Pacific was the key to defending the country?
Why go through the trouble of building a new navy, decimating the Japanese navy in combat, pushing them back island by island and even fighting the war for a few years if the real plan is just to drop an atomic bomb?
Oh... thats right... because the Atomic Bomb did not exist yet... and the Manhatten Project only was commissioned as a result of Pearl Harbor and only a couple scientist in the world at the time even thought it was possible to build an atomic bomb.
but i guess you knew that because you are really bright and have it all figured out.
