How are people doing with IWantU per profile?

I'm noticing a stark difference in generated income. From good ratios to practically non-existant.

Seems people just aren't filling in profiles.

has anyone else noticed a huge difference?

sent some traffic their way, and the stats that they show, and the amount that I know I sent, is a major difference.

I still send them 1K niched text link clicks a day. 1:10 conversions for that traffic. However, I can't replicate that ratio if I pour on my mainstream niche traffic.

Gene, how are you preselling? Are you explaining that they need to fill in a profile then search for mates or just sending them to the main tour with generic text?

I'm sending to tour with generic text, wa working good for email, not so good on per profile tho.

I'm setting up a site for a client right now preselling by getting them to fill in a profile to search for mates.

Curious to see how that works out.

            Hey iwantchixxx,

You might want to try sending to either the join page itself, or the search results page to see if that helps your free conversion.

You can get a list of all possible search params you can use from the Linkcode section, but here's an example:

"Men seeking Women 19-28 within 100 miles of Bev Hills, CA"

            https://www.iwantu.com/click/campaig...gender_seeking[]=2&zip=90210

You can ofcourse use many other options, from ethnicity to body type to whether they smoke or not.

Hope this helps, if you don't see an increase in conversions, feel free to contact your rep so they look at your site/links and suggest improvements

Free signups are fine, paid sales are horrable.

Since you need good paid sales to get paid more than .50cents, I took my links down.

I don't notice a better ratio with people not having to confirm their email addresses either. I think most people ASSUME they need to confirm nowdays anyway so they put in a real email addy.

I'm going to wait a few weeks to see if any more freejoins convert to paid, then i'll decide if i'll continue with them.

                Hey Xplicit,

We're working on why the newer affiliates who came in during the $2.50 promo are converting so much less than our revshare/pps affiliates have been averaging. This week we will study some patterns and figure it out.

As for email confirmations though, I can directly see in the database that roughly 70% of members have NOT confirmed their email address. Now perhaps because we allow them to login and use the site without confirming, they just don't bother...this could be something for us to study and play with

How to send hits to profiles search?

The most effective way to market a dating website is to send traffic directly to the search results. Follow the example below and replace the dots (...) by the desired variables to reflect your search criteria.

                    http://www.iwantu.com/click/XXXXXXXX/0/search.love?.................................
                    Desired country country=XXX
                    Desired state/province region=XXX
                    Zip code zip=XXXXX
                    • You will receive all matches at 100 miles away from this zip or postal code (us canada only)

Note: If you do not enter any value for country, region or zip code, profiles will automatically be displayed from the corresponding country of the surfer.

While sending directly to the search page works well for me on other dating sites.. sending to yours actually made my ratio worse. The thumbnails are too small, the next is hard to read, and really I just can't tell what you are showing me when I look at the search results. Perhaps you should think about adding some alternate search landing pages .

I concur, IWU has the absolute worst search results page. I just sent to the index. Ratios, conversions and so forth have fallen apart after the 2.50 per join-no ratio period. I wonder why?

what you guys need is a REAL geotargeting. What fucking good is it for me to send traffic from all over the world to a scheme like this:

I purchased traffic for this. There's got to be something going on here.

I send them to a age limited search link (18 to 25) for African-American women. IWU's link system is very flexible and can be configured by sexual orientation, body style, state, ethnicity, etc.

On the pay per email promotion I was averaging roughly 1:49 on all sources combined (I didn't have bought traffic then, just my own). On that same traffic it's much much much much worse not including the bought traffic now being sent as well..

                                    This is rediculous.

Ah so your really targeting it hard. That's good for specific niched traffic.

                                      Not good for general traffic.

Glad to see it's working out for you though.

                                        Not quite.

As I mentioned earlier, the nice 10:1 ratio disappears if I try to pour on my other traffic (even if I filter it via straight to a profile or age range). So I just send it some of my ethnic traffic.

iwantchixx, I may not understand your post, but the $2.50 promotion that iwantu had was per profile, not per email. Nothing has changed, you're still being paid per profile made. As far as I know, it's never been per email.

I am also seeing strange numbers since the per email promotion ended.

If the payout had simply dropped from $2.50 to 0.50 I would expect my RPC to drop by 80% also, with same traffic.

However it has dropped by 85-90%.

                                                  So I am missing 5-10%

BUT this is pay per profile not per email, so where are all the people who didn't confirm their email or it got spam filtered out?

The wording on the signup page hasn't changed.

It still says you need a valid email to join.

So if 70% of people aren't confirming their email now, the same amount weren't confirming it before and I would expect a 70% increase in free members in the current pay per profile deal which would equate (it's late I may be wrong) to only about a 33% drop in RPC

                                                  example: 100 free joins

during $2.50 per email I would expect

                                                  100 x .3 x 2.50 = $75

during $0.50 per profile I would expect

                                                  100 x 0.50 = $50

So I am expecting a 33% drop but get an 85-90% drop

                                                  Is my math wrong?

Spam Filters and ISP based e-mail filters are a major issue for all the adult industry right now.

I put up a newsletter on Porno.com and we had people not able to confirm because of the porno.com domain in the confirmation e-mails that was getting filtered as junk mail.

You're the second person who has mentioned the "per email promotion."

It was never a per email signup.

During the $2.50 promotion, signups were made per profile made and not per email confirmed.

I put up a newsletter on Porno.com and we had people not able to confirm because of the porno.com domain in the confirmation e-mails that was getting filtered as junk mail.
Yea, filters are quite complicated, especially when they mess with a legitimate piece of mail.

I noticed during iwantu's $2.50 promo that the confirmation email wouldn't make AOL's inbox, and only 20-30% even made the spam folder.

Considering that the majority of my traffic is from AOL, I sure am glad that the promo was based on per profile, and not per email. A unique, and profitable concept given the dating programs out there.

We're working on why the newer affiliates who came in during the $2.50 promo are converting so much less than our revshare/pps affiliates have been averaging. This week we will study some patterns and figure it out.
and I'm sure they will figure it out soon

Click on the link and perform a search. After you do a search click on a random profile and see if the submit form allows you to submit your details. I was having a problem with this not too long ago and found out that the form got cut off so people wouldn't be able to complete it or click submit which of course caused me to have some really bad ratios. You'll want to check it in internet explorer of course since i let it continue for 3 days and only checked with firefox. I guess i should have repoted this bug to iwantu as soon as i noticed it

1st Test: I signed up with a valid email address, and then received the mailer from iwantu and confirmed it as a valid address. I checked my stats, no credit. Then I waited 10 minutes. Checked again, no credit. Then, I created and submitted a valid profile, and instantly I was credited $2.50.

2nd Test: I signed up with a fake email address. I didn't even need to check the inbox as the address doesn't exist. I navigated over to the profile page, created and submitted a valid profile, and was instantly credited $2.50.

3rd Test: I signed up with a valid email address, and received the confirmation email, but did not open it, nor verify the email address. I again created and submitted a profile, and was instantly credited $2.50.

All this drew me to believe that it was pay per profile, and not pay per email.

And yes, I did contact my account rep (Lara) and she said that she would take care of debiting my account the $7.50.

It helps me understand the signup process from the surfers perspective. If anything, it allows me to pre-sell better. I know what sort of design and description to use. It enables me to be more selective with my words. Its all about marketing.

So far, I've yet to run across a program that's had a problem with it. I explain what I've done, that no fraud was involved, and to just debit my account for the test signup.

I see quite a bit of confusion in this thread, so I'll try and clear it up some

First, we have not yet to date ever ran a true "pay-per-email" program. With our $2.50 promotion, we called it that because that's what everyone was more used to hearing, instead of 'pay-per-free' or 'pay-per-profile'.

However, it never required you to confirm your email address, only to submit a valid profile.

The only thing that changed since that promotion and now, is the amount (from $2.50 to a $0.50 starting base)

If you were converting 10% free on the 2.50 program, you should still be converting the same now on 50 cents. Nothing has been changed in the signup or profile process in the past few weeks.

If your ratios with same type of traffic have dropped from the 2.50 program ot the 50 cents one, there is a problem somewhere. Please contact your rep so that it can be investigated on a case-by-case basis
