I totally agree.... but I prefer to alternate. Initially, shoot for the deep water, then towards the end, take it to the rim so the dribbling doesn't sound weak.

I find that pissing on the rim makes the least mess, and if i pee into the water it splashes up after the initial hit and droplets pop up every now and then.

In public I try to hit the RIM all the time, otherwise at home its whatever.

I think having my room next to the bathroom when I grew up made me hate when people piss directly in the water. It was damn annoying when you hear someone pissing all the time.

As a youngster, I was taught a silent method when pissing at a girls house (or when you have a young lady over to your house); flush and pee at the same time, thus killing the noise altogether. If you have to take a long piss, you piss in silent mode 1st, then flush toward the end.
