I had them in a house I rented several years ago. One of my roommates got bit in the chest when he was putting on his shirt...had to go to the hospital, his tit swelled up, etc. Rough.
This house was in the midwest, so it might be a little different than Texas. But the exterminator guys said that the spiders move through different areas, and they would eventually leave. They gave us a bunch of sticky spider traps that smelled like peanut butter until then.

Get some cats man. I see a lot less spiders these days because my cats eat them all.
We've got brown recluse and black widows around here too. Brown recluse I have seen in my basement and in boxes I've brought down from the attic.
I've gotten some pretty nasty spider bites, almost always while I'm in bed. I remember one on my leg that may have been a brown recluse. The sore turned green and was filled with puss...it looked like gangrene...went away after a couple months of me popping the blisters and pouring peroxide on it 50 times a day.Comment
