what's even funnier are the dumbasses that start the threads "spam me with such and such" and they start that on every board and the dumbass that's spamming their sites follow them from board to board posting the same cookie cutter response.
Yes, we have many "fill in the blank" sites at "fill in the blank"

No, cross posts don't piss me off nor do they strike me as stupid (unless it's a dumb joke or retarded "what's the best brand of cat food" thread, etc.). I do appreciate it when people begin with "sorry for the cross post" or something like that so I don't waste time struggling with deja vu.Comment

I agree.. if you post a question on more boards you're more likely to get a good responce.Originally posted by Trixie

well, there is a reason for that. it is a known fact that for every person writing an opinion, or asking a question, there are at least 10 others that have the same opinion/question. that is why politicians pay so much attention to the letters people send them, because they know there are at least another 100 people that feel the same way.Originally posted by undermyspell

So, as Stuart mentioned above, since no two boards have the same audience, and since there are a lot more lurkers than there are active participants at ANY board, it only makes sense to respond to the spam request anywhere you see it.

yeah it should be blatanly obvious that in that case the intended audience for the reply isn't the person who started the thread and has already seent he response but the multiple readers from the different boards.. some people here just don't think that shit through before they it the "reply" button.Originally posted by baddog

As long as they only post it once in every msg board they go to, I guess its ok.

I am not sure that I understand your response, or that you understand mine, so that tells me someone else may not understand, so I will expound.Originally posted by bhutocracy

Joe webmaster asks for a sponsor that has FHG's, free hosting, pays $40 PPS, and sends hookers to the top affilate of each month, and posts the question on several boards.
Guaranteed, there will be lurkers on each of the boards the question was asked that are wondering the exact same thing.
I can assure you that a majority of the people on my full ICQ list have never posted on any board. That does not they don't read them. Every major webmaster event I go to, I meet someone that knows me from some board, but never posts.
I get email inquiries about my programs on a daily basis because I answered someone else's question.Last edited by baddog; 06-06-2004, 11:11 PM.Comment
