Lifer, there have been many misinformed stories about TS condition. The people who want to create some sort of compassion have spent their time going to news agencies claiming all sorts of things about TS, including that she is talking, laughing, and basically alive. The way you present the quote (in a Fox news interview) makes it sound like Fox news has said that she is this or that. Far from the truth, some whackjob got interviewed and said it! Why not attribute the quote correctly? I know why, because it would show that the person speaking was motivated by something other than honesty.
Truth of the matter is, she isn't alive, and hasn't been for 15 years. She has, according to doctors (not someone desperate for good things to happen) little or no brain function at this point, and it is NOT GETTING BETTER. Doctors and her husband both have been trying for a long time to get the feeding tube turned off so that the body can join the mind and spirit in the after life (whatever that might be, if it exists).
If she could laugh, talk and such, don't you think that this would be a different discussion? She can't, it ain't, and 30+ judges have ALL ruled the same way, even in some of the most conservative courts in the land.
Don't believe the hype, right?
