Um...ok. In America we do this thing called "hunting". It's when you go out armed with a gun and shoot something for food. It's been going on for centuries. Get over it.

It could be worse. I've heard of people going hog hunting with nothing more than a dog and a buck knife! Now THAT'S hunting!

If this upsets you then write an angry letter to Oscar Mayer...I'm sure they kill A LOT more pigs than this guy did.

If you read the article he doesn't shoot the hog in order to prove it existed. Apparently he shot the pig a while back (6 months ago) and told stories of it which no one believed. National Geographic then went in and dug up the corpse of the hog that had been buried underground for 6 months.

So it's a case of the one that got away and no one believing him of its size until now.

I didnt really understand the whole article and only briefly read it. Sorry! Still think the guy is a prick of killing it. He must have realised that it was a giant and should have caught it.

The question you have to ask yourself is this; if a hog that size, which hogs have inhereted nasty temperments, was in front of you would you A) Attempt to catch it or B) Shoot it?

I think I would shoot first and ask questions later. But that's just me.
